The Release of Information (ROI) sharing feature allows provider domains to share clinical data between two or more real time providers within the same CAREWare instance. Sharing can be set for a specified date span and only the clinical data for that date span will be viewable by other providers. No data will be displayed to sharing providers outside of the specified date span. The ROI feature is only available for clinical data and not service or case notes.
The ROI sharing is setup in the real time provider domain setup wizard. The following steps can be used to initialize the ROI sharing and setup it properly.
- Log in to the real time provider domain
- Go to Administrative Options>Setup Wizard
- Click Next, Next
- Check the radio button labeled "Yes, I would like review/change my data sharing options" and then click Next
- Click Next
- Click the radio button labeled "Level 1: Share clinical information only with other providers that have proper permission."
- Click on the radio button in the Advanced Clinical Sharing Options box labeled "Release of Information (ROI) Sharing"
- Click Next till Finish
Once the ROI Sharing is enabled the sharing of client data is done on a client by client basis. To enable the ROI Sharing for a client a user will complete the following steps:
- Log in to the real time provider domain
- Find a client that will have the ROI Sharing enabled
- Click on the Encounters tab
- Click on the Sharing Options button
- Click on "New ROI Share"
- Provider the date span that the clinical data will be available for
- Click Save
With the ROI setup complete a user will be able to the Encounters tab and then to one of the subtab Rapid Entry forms. By adjusting the date span using the From/Through fields the user will be able to view the shared clinical data specified by the sharing provider within the ROI date span.
